My career as an educator over the last thirty years has been in professional and academic environments, both domestic and international, ranging from high school through graduate school.

Currently I am a Senior Lecturer in the Human-Centered Design and Engineering department of the University of Washington‘s College of Engineering. I teach project-oriented courses in user-centered design, user experience design, and physical computing. |

I taught high school in the public school district of Seattle, Washington, at Roosevelt High School from 2010 — 2012. I launched the computer science program there, and also taught interactive media courses such as web design. More info here: rooseveltcs.org. |

I was an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Art, from 2006 — 2012. As an adjunct faculty member, I taught a variety of interaction design courses in the Division of Design. |

From 2002 — 2005, I was chair of the academic program at Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, in Ivrea, Italy. Interaction Ivrea was an international graduate school and research center focused on interaction design, founded by Olivetti and Telecom Italia. |
